Your medical records
Keeping information about you secure
Your doctor and the other professionals caring for you keep records about your health and any treatment or care you receive from the NHS. These records are then used to guide and manage the care you receive.
We are professionally and legally bound to make sure information about your treatment and care is kept safe and confidential.
Electronic patient record
The Trust has introduced a very successful electronic patient record (EPR) with strict controls that ensure only relevant staff have certain levels of access to the information related to your treatment and care. If you would like further information about this or your rights regarding opting out of the National Care Records System, please contact the Trust's Caldicott Guardian on 0161 748 4022.
Access to health records
Under the Data Protection Act (1998) you are entitled to gain access to your health records.
