Great value bus running from Piccadilly Rail Station to the hospitals every 10 minutes from 7.15 am and every 20 minutes from 6.15 pm - 9.00 pm (Monday - Friday).

Travel costs claims

If you are claiming benefits you may be entitled to reclaim all or part of your travel costs. Please take your receipts with your benefits book to the Cashiers/General Office so they can look at this for you.


If your child has medical needs that require ambulance transport, you must contact your family doctor (GP) to arrange this for your first visit.

Transport for Sick Children

Transport for Sick Children are a registered charity working throughout Greater Manchester helping children to reach their hospital appointments. If you have difficulty getting your child to and from health appointments please contact your Health Visitor or Social Worker and ask them to contact this charity directly. If you or anyone you know who has access to a vehicle and would like to become a volunteer with this charity, please contact:
