Access to Information

In order to be an open and transparent organisation, Trafford Healthcare NHS Trust is committed to making the maximum amount of information publically available at minimum inconvenience and cost. We aim to make information available via our website and, where possible, we will also provide information in alternative formats, such as hard copy, if asked to do so.

From time to time, individuals may request access to information held by the organisation and, depending on the nature of the information being sought, requests will be considered under three different access regimes:-

  • Requests from an individual about their own personal data and information about them will be handled and dealt with in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). More information
  • Requests for environmental information will be handled and dealt with in accordance with the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR). More information
  • All other requests for information will be handled and dealt with in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA). More information

We take our duty to protect your personal information and confidentiality very seriously and we are committed to taking all reasonable measures to ensure the confidentiality and security of personal data for which we are responsible. At Board level, we have appointed a Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) who is accountable for the management of all information assets and any associated risks and incidents, and a Caldicott Guardian who is responsible for the management of patient information and patient confidentiality.
