A new Altrincham General Hospital
Building you a better hospital

We are building a new hospital in Altrincham town centre. It will provide all the same services as the existing Altrincham General Hospital, but in a much more modern, patient-friendly facility.
We believe this is needed because the current building, which dates back to Victorian times, is in poor condition and has limited access for wheelchair users, people who have difficulty walking and families with child buggies.
The new hospital will be built on Railway Street, Altrincham in partnership with our preferred developer, Citybranch Limited, and their technical partner, Pochin's PLC.

We are now in the process of developing final designs and contract terms for the new hospital and will then submit our full business case NHS North West. Construction is likely to start on the site in summer 2012 and the new hospital could open in 2014.
You can find more information on the new hospital project in the pages within this section - just follow the grey links on the left.
New Altrincham hospital and the Trust's future:
The Altrincham hospital project is separate from the Trust's wider decision that we would like to become part of a larger organisation.
